Chains for cold drawing, wire drawing and tube drawing machines are mainly divided into two categories: special heavy-duty straight side plate roller chains complying with JB/T 9153, and heavy-duty leaf chains / block chains. There is no universal single model, while certain specifications are widely adopted in the industry.

Maintenance Methods for Cold Drawing Machine Chains
Regular Lubrication
Apply dedicated industrial chain lubricant periodically. Ensure oil penetrates fully into joints to reduce friction and wear, especially for high-load running conditions.
Daily Inspection
Check for wear, deformation, cracks or loose pins every day. Replace damaged parts timely to avoid sudden breakdown.
Cleaning
Remove dust, metal scraps and dirt on chain surfaces regularly. Contaminants will accelerate abrasion and shorten service life.
Tension Adjustment
Keep proper chain tension. Too tight increases load; too loose causes jumping and abnormal impact during operation.
Anti-Corrosion Protection
For humid working environments, use anti-rust lubricants. Store spare chains in dry places to prevent rust.
Regular Retensioning & Pre-Stretch
After long-time operation, re-tension the chain. Perform pre-stretching as required to eliminate elongation.
