Before putting the drive chain into service, a comprehensive inspection of the chain, sprockets, tensioning device, and guards must be conducted; the equipment should only be started after confirming that all components are securely installed, the chain tension is appropriate, and the lubrication is adequate. Upon startup, a no-load test run should be performed to observe the chain's operation for smoothness and to check for abnormal vibration, unusual noise, binding, or chain skipping; normal operation must be verified before commencing actual work.

 

During operation, the drive chain must be used strictly within specified load and speed limits; overloading or prolonged operation at excessive speeds is prohibited to prevent premature wear or chain breakage. Operators should closely monitor the chain's condition and immediately stop the equipment for inspection and remediation if issues such as chain slackness, sprocket wear, insufficient lubrication, or other anomalies arise; operating the equipment while faults exist is strictly forbidden. Furthermore, hands or tools must not be placed near the drive chain while the equipment is running to avoid accidents such as crushing injuries.

 

After the equipment is shut down, dust, oil, and debris should be promptly cleaned from the chain surface. Lubricant must be replenished or replaced according to maintenance requirements, and checks should be performed for chain elongation, sprocket wear, and any loose connecting parts. Severely worn or damaged chains and sprockets must be repaired or replaced promptly to ensure the drive system remains in optimal working condition. Standardized operation and maintenance not only enhance the drive chain's efficiency but also effectively extend its service life, ensuring the safe and stable operation of the machinery.
